Jonathan is located in Bellingham and is well known throughout Washington State particularly in Whatcom, Skagit, San Juan, & Island counties. Jonathan has a well-respected reputation among his peers and clients due to his knowledge, professionalism, and his creative and persistent defense of citizens accused of DUI. Jonathan was among the first Washington State defense attorneys to handle Draeger cases in DOL and court settings. For years prior to its deployment, Jonathan has been researching and preparing for the Draeger's arrival. Jonathan educates himself to the highest level possible to help achieve the best results possible for his clients. Jonathan is NHTSA qualified to administer roadside sobriety tests, and is likewise NHTSA ARIDE qualified. He is a graduate of AXION Training Institute/Analytical Laboratories where he completed three separate 40 hour hands on training for Headspace Gas Chromatography, Solid Drug Analyses, and most recently DUI-Drugs. This training is presented in partnership with the American Chemical Society. Jonathan has also trained under Terry MacCarthy refining the art of cross examination. Jonathan holds a Juris Doctorate from the Seattle University School of Law and is a participating member of the following organizations: Washington Foundation for Criminal Justice; National College for DUI Defense, Washington Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers and a founding member of DUI Defense Lawyers Association. He also has extensive knowledge of Canadian/United States immigration DUI consequences. Jonathan limits his practice to DUI, serious criminal traffic offenses, and other alcohol related crimes.
